Bowed Wing Psaltery #1Previous Image | Gallery | Next Image |
|
Original design, loosely based on historic originals. It is maple, salvaged Douglas fir, and with salvaged black walnut and ebony trim. This is a modern version of an ancient instrument. It appears to be a standard 11th to 16th century wing psaltery, and it can be played as such, but it is set up to be bowed, across the top posts, as you would a standard bowed psaltery. Unlike the bowed psaltery, which is chromatic, the bowed wing psaltery is diatonic. It is two octaves in the C-major scale. Sold |
