The epinette des Vosges is the French ancestor to the Appalachian Mountain dulcimer and dates to the 1700s. This instrument is based on newer epinettes with raised fingerboards. This one is all flamed and birdseye maple.The tuning pegs are maple.

The size is 31" x 3" x 2". It has 5 steel dulcimer strings, and the scale length is 23". It produces a beautiful tone. These are not tuned like Mountain dulcimers, but can be. A tuning guide is included.
