Original lyre design based on 6th-7th Century instrument found in a burial site in the Black Forest.

"Janus" is a full-sized lyre made of flamed maple. The tailpiece, bridge, and decorative features are black walnut. The hand-carved double-faced tuning pegs are maple. The square crowns fit a custom metal and wood tuning key, also with two carved faces. It is 29" x 8" x 2.5". The body depth is approximately 3/4" and is hollow.
