This is an original design based on 7th Century instrument found in burial mound in Sutton Hoo archeological site, East Anglia, Great Britain. It is birdseye Maple, with a recycled maple top, black walnut medallions, and hand-carved flowering plum wood tuning pegs. This lyre is half recycled/salvaged wood and half new wood. The front is recycled, the pegs are salvaged from a friend's tree that died, and the bridge, tailpiece, and medallions are scrap from other projects. The back is new birdseye maple. Nylon strung. It is 30" x 7 1/2" x 3". Body depth is approximately 1". It is hollow. Please E-mail for price and availability. |
