Pre-1990 Dulcimers
The Blond Lady

1980-San José: This was my first dulcimer using salvaged woods. The entire body is constructed of maple butcher block counter top. Around 1977 I remodeled my kitchen. I built all the cabinets out of pine in the style of American Colonial furniture with over 20 cabinet doors with raised panels. I installed maple butcher block counters throughout. Because several pieces had to be cut out for the stove and sink, I had quite a bit left. I resawed the pieces and used some for The Blond Lady. The fingerboard is salvaged pine with black walnut laminate for the frets. The tuning pegs are hand-carved ebony.
