1978-San José: The back and sides are red oak. The head and tailpiece are zebrawood, a light West African hardwood with dark stripes. The top is spruce, and the fingerboard is spruce with red oak fret board. Nearly all of the previous dulcimers I built I gave away to friends as gifts. This was my first sale. I took this to a music store in Los Gatos on consignment and it sold within the week.
